Now, this is about a painting that was submitted a LONG time ago, inspired by an image of a daughter of a friend from Matchdoctor.com. That is the basic pose was and the face was. Only the face looked TOO MUCH like her, so we (the lady playing go-between for me and her daughter) agreed that I needed to change the face on the painting so that it would not look like her anymore.

So I did, as well as changing several other things so that the only thing that remotely resembles the original image happens to be that it is female and has hair and is thin and is standing.

I totally deleted the original file and replaced it with the new file. Since i did replace it with the new file I have NO IDEA how it could be that the print would not match the painting being shown in my gallery. Sounds like a glitch with the site that someone needs to look into, to me.

However, I do have an idea of why they are doing this now, as does everyone else who has been paying attention.

The file I uploaded was at least 16" x 20 " and it was at least 300 DPI so the # 2 reason for rejection is completely invalid.

It is a completely original piece of art, with nothing to do by any members here or with the use of anyone's stock images at all, so # 3 is completely invalid for an excuse to reject it.

# 1 is invalid because I did everything I could to ensure the that what they see is what they get. it is not up to me to perform maintenance to this site.

And there is a girl from the UK, who wants a man on a motorbike, who is wasting my valuable time. I had already DELETED 'Fashion Mayhem' BEFORE you rejected it! LOL

The reason provided by the Quality Control Technician was:

We are sorry, but this print has to be rejected for the following 3
reasons:

1) Your print does not resemble its original counterpart as the models'
face is a different one. Please either re-upload your deviation so that
it matches this print OR alter the print image so that it matches your
current deviation. It is important that the deviation and Print match to
ensure the customer is getting the product they expect. Thank you!

2) The quality of your source file did not meet our minimum quality
standards for any print size.

If you would like to make Prints of this image, we suggest you try the
following methods:

- Rescan or rephotograph the original work at a larger size to enable
higher resolutions.

- Save your files as High - Max quality jpegs (.JPG) to ensure high
quality with a relatively small file size.

- Do not stretch your image to larger sizes. This is particularly
important when using images from a digital camera; the maximum size
yielded from the camera will be the maximum size you can make available
for print.

It should also be noted that images 150 dpi and under MUST be absolutely
crystal clear, with NO distortion or pixelation.

3) When submitting pieces making use of stock resources, please be sure
to do the following before submitting:

- Have the stock provider or collaborator email permission to
prints-permission@deviantart.com. This permission should include their
username, your username, and a link to the deviation. Please ask the
stock provider or collaborator to CC a copy to your email so you know
when you can safely submit your print.
- Credit your sources/collaborator(s) in the print description by
providing links to the resources or the userpage/website.
- You may edit your deviation to submit necessary permission documents
for it.

The following actions will occur if these steps are not followed:
- Your print will be rejected if permission is not received before the
print is reviewed.
- Your print will be rejected if no sources are listed and we believe
the piece contains stock resources.

Just to keep things on the up and up. I have announced my intentions of removing myself from this site, due to the personal issues of at least one Quality Control Technician getting in the way of fair treatment of at least one member: me.

Since I made that announcement I have removed at least 41 paintings from my Gallery (including scraps), possibly much more.

All I ask is that whomever it is running Deviant Art stop the person who deleted 6, or so, of my paintings, from deleting the rest and that they do not allow the person who is motivated by personal issues destroy my art or ban me, until I can get the rest of my work off the site.

I am going as fast as I can, but I do have to work tonight and probably all day tomorrow and I am chronically ill, so I do have to rest. And I do have children, so I need to spend time with them, make them dinner, etc.

I realize that you are doing your jobs and trying to cover your own arses, legally, but this is allegedly an art site for artists not a legal site for legalities.

You cannot tell an artist that they are not allowed to be inspired and they must have all necessary signed permission to have become inspired by a photo, by a person, by a movie, etc.

You can tell an artist "This picture is too close to a copyrighted image (with example) and it makes us nervous. Please remove it from our site, show proof that you have permission to use the copyrighted image, or change it. "

And then, if you don't hear from that artist for a week or more, it's perfectly reasonable to tell them you will delete it if they do not respond. And then, if they do not respond, to delete it.

It would be wonderful if you took into consideration that sometimes artists fall deathly ill, things happen in their lives, etc. and would be so kind as to send back their copy of whatever it is that you are deleting, before deleting it . As, whomever it does belong to, it does not belong to you! But, that's what would be polite and show that you care about the persons on this site, not what is strictly necessary legally I know.

What is also not necessary, however, is for you to start out with accusations and build immediately to utter dismissal of the person and to delete, therefore destroy, their artwork. If you hadn't started out by making accusations, smearing my good name in the mud, this would not have been an argument. I wouldn't have liked it, but I would have moved the images somewhere else.

And, since you said you don't understand why I keep bringing up Sunshine Maiden, while you are more concerned with the alleged pictures of Tommy Lee, then I suggest you listen to this too:

I am not as concerned with the alleged pictures of Tommy Lee because I did not create Tommy Lee as a character or the person whose portrait they really were either. They are portraits of a person, who is important to me and the final images were important to me too ,but they were not totally from me.

Sunshine Maiden was from me! It belonged to no one else, was of no one at all.

I could see where you would look at the other pictures and get confused and think they were of Tommy Lee, okay? I can. So that's a totally different subject as, even though I know you are wrong, it makes some sort of sense that you would go there.

But, with Sunshine Maiden, you were denying me printing rights to it because I did not show you proof that I had the right to use other members images.

Now listen closely to the difference: there were no other members images involved, or anyone else's images directly involved with the making of Sunshine Maiden so there were no permissions needed, because everything came from me .. and no other source.

That's why I keep bringing it up, that's why it's more important to me. Because you assumed that I was using someone else's images, when I was not even, and that is a direct assault on my character, on my good name, and an attempt to completely shut me down as an artist: to say that an artist cannot paint anything without a model, that it's impossible that they can think and created with their mind and hand .. and if you don't know it, it's insulting to you and to everyone else here, too.

We are artists .. we create .. we don't need permission to create .. only to use other people's work. Sunshine Maiden is solely my creation and is not of a real person at all.

The last thing I got from the Mod or whatever they are called here, said the pictures that I uploaded were an exact match for copyrighted photos of Tommy Lee.

Does that look like an exact match to you???

Also, she said that my friend sent me a picture of Tommy Lee and lied to me and said it was him, but they are not fooled.

For those of you who have seen the long, slim, tattooed wonder boy that is my friend in question, Txbone aka Stuart, I know I don't even have to ask you if he sometimes looks like Tommy Lee and if he has tattoos all over like Tommy Lee and a pierced nipple like one of Tommy Lee's (because the other was pulled out in a bar fight, apparently) or if he has relatively the same hair cut and color as Tommy Lee's quite often, because you already know that he does. But it sure would be nice if you told everyone else that.

For those of you who don't know, I suggest you go and look at the folder entitled 'Stuart' if they haven't deleted that for allegedly being Tommy Lee too .. oh and some of them are in the folder entitled Sky... and, keeping in mind that most of those were done when he was younger, less tattooed, and had a different hair color, imagine if he could look like Tommy Lee from the side view or remind you of him at all.

And then tell it to the Mods because I'm out of here anyway. I will not put up with this level of disrespect and abuse from the people who run this site.

I am moving all my art over to a place that actually lets artists be artists, not just stuffed shirts looking for validation as soon as they hire the right professionals to be allowed to create "art".

Because I do not hire professional models, I do not go to professinal photographers .. I am a person who keeps their word and I have friends, not just hired professionals, who keep theirs. So I don't need constant signed permissions to paint them Anyone whose stock I used or who I painted has validated that permission by buying a copy of it, or by commenting below the image, or by kissing me on the cheek (in the case of my son) or by thanking me by email.

So again to the mods/quality control technicians: I AM NOT SEEKING YOUR APPROVAL I am only asking for you to have some SELF CONTROL and stop deleting my images until I can get them moved over to the sort of place that appreciates real art that is created, not by the influx of money, but by real inspiration.

Because everytime I say something inspired me, you jump down my arse and say it can't be legal artwork since I have gazed at an image or heard a voice or walked through a garden to have that inspiration. It's friggin weird .. and i'm done with you.
